Rho-Tech was originally established in 1993 and has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years.
From a small team headed by sole-owner Stan Whiting to a structured company led by an experienced Management Team, backed up by a competent Administration Department and a loyal workforce all dedicated to teamwork and service.
Our business has predominantly been the sourcing of thermoplastic pipe and fittings from ISO9001 accredited companies and the installations and fabrications there of, for chemical process and water treatment plants. We are a diverse company, which can perform specialised tasks in a vast area with many clients both big and small. We try and offer the client the best solution and value for money to solve their problems whatever they may be. We would be delighted to be of assistance to yourselves or any of your clientele that could require our expertise or services.
Rho-Tech sources its material from a fully accredited SABS – ISO and BEE manufacturers and suppliers and we are in the process of accreditation.
These installations have been in P/P, HDPE, PVC, and even PVDF depending on the severity of the chemical content and concentrations.
- Premises in South Africa with workshop, admin block, separate training facilities and isolated welding room are situated in Southgate Business Park just 10 mins from Durban InternationalAirport and are owned by the company.
- Premises in Zambia consist of workshop and administration and are situated on the Copperbelt close to mines.
- Rho-Tech has a staff compliment of approx 70 in South Africa and 70 in Zambia.
- Approx 17 members of staff are Certified Welders, having qualified with the Plastics Federation of
South Africa - Rho-Tech offers a 24-hour Breakdown Service.
- Rho-Tech has a fleet of vehicles comprising 7 in South Africa and 9 in Zambia. Rho-Tech has a Designated Driver to assist site installations.
- 2 X Truck Tractors with Interlink Trailers, to transport pipe and fittings between Durban and Zambia
- 1 x 20-cubic metre Tipper Trailer

We are the only company in SA to have imported the first McElroy TracStar 900, which is suitable for 340mm – 900mm pipe.

Our 1000mm Thermo Plastic Butt Welding trench model on photo illustrates our capabilities to perform the process to SABS standards.

Our Welding Machines are both local and imported and conform to SABS Standards.Our training facility for ongoing updates in technology.Rho-Tech plastic welders are certified by The Plastic Federation of South Africa in compliance with SAQA.We manufacture pipe nozzles and outlets for welding to the dam liners at controlled dumpsites and even the welding of the liners themselves for dam lining and subcrete liners.We tend to be called in to weld most of the river crossings and road crossings, as the client requires continuously welded pipes for these applications.
